What kind of race it is

Running since 1907, this is the oldest motorcycle race still held. It is not a circuit: the island closes its public roads, and a lap is about 60 km. Where other road races start several riders together, the TT is a time trial, releasing riders one at a time at ten-second intervals. In 2026 qualifying begins on 25 May, and six race days are scheduled, from Race day 1 on 30 May to Race day 6 on 6 June.
